Women’s Day 2012

One of the biggest holidays here is March 8, International Women’s Day.  When I lived in Ukraine before, I enjoyed this holiday because it wasn’t restricted to just mothers or just those who had a “valentine”, but all women were celebrated with flowers and...

Today was a pretty average day in our lives, so I thought I’d share it.  It’s not really the kind of day that results in any pictures being taken!  This post may help you understand why I often seem to be stumped by the...

Baby, It’s Cold Outside!

Evidently, Ukraine’s weather is making the news all over these days.  It is definitely cold outside!  Ironically, we had a pretty warm winter (around freezing) with no snow (at least, none that stuck to the ground) until the middle of January.  However, once it...

Current Prayer Requests

Updated Feb. 21, 2012
Praise for God's provision of funds for a vehicle! Pray that the governmental red tape would be navigated quickly and that we would make the purchase in God's timing (and be patient!).

Please pray that we would continue to learn language, adjust to culture and face the challenges and joys of living here with our family with grace.

Please continue to pray for Stevie and that all his needs are being met as well as that he will have time to spend time with other children and have good times of play and fellowship.

Pray for continued health for Dawn and the baby. Pray for safe travel on April 11 as Dawn and Stevie return to the U.S. and Steve stays in Kiev until May 8.

Praise for new personal ministry opportunities for Dawn as well as a deeper understanding of Steve's role in ministry here. Pray for balance and wisdom as we follow through on these opportunities.

Pray for Steve as he continues his language study. He has been working on country level items now but will soon be looking for a language helper and a language tutor and would pray that the perfect person would be made available to fill these roles.

Pray for the church office to be completed so church ministries can resume. All remodeling is complete, but it has now been a number of months of waiting for certain governmental approvals to authorize the legal use of electricity in the location. Every week it seems that the approvals are imminent and the situation is very discouraging for our pastor and church leadership.

Pray for our finances as we look forward to a new child and adjust for medical and related travel expenses.
